What are soundfonts?<\/h3>

By uploading soundfonts (=lightsaber sounds) to your soundboard, you can personalize and expand your lightsaber with new sounds. You can find the procedure in this guide.<\/p>

Preparation<\/h3>

Required hardware: You need a computer and an SD card adapter. Pixel and Proffie lightsabers are already supplied with an SD card and the corresponding adapter. For RGB lightsabers, you will also need a microSD card.<\/p>

Remove SD card<\/h3>

The SD card is located on the soundboard of your lightsaber. Switch off your lightsaber and remove the battery before pulling out the SD card. For a core with a killswitch, it is sufficient to set the switch to \u00aboff\u00bb.<\/p>

Now remove the SD card by pulling it out of the soundboard and connect it to the PC. Open the microSD card directory on your computer. There you will find the folders with the existing soundfonts.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

File structure<\/h3>

Each soundfont is stored in its own folder, which is numbered. The first soundfont is named \u00ab1\u00bb, the second \u00ab2\u00bb, and so on. To add more soundfonts, you can rename the folder of the new soundfont to the next higher number (if your soundboard already has soundfonts \u00ab1\u00bb to \u00ab34\u00bb, then the next one will be named \u00ab35\u00bb).<\/p>

Each folder contains the audio files that characterize the soundfonts. The naming and format of these files are crucial for whether they are recognized by the soundboard at all. It is important that all audio files are in .wav format and use the same naming structure as the soundfonts already uploaded (e.g. \u00abswing (1)\u00bb, \u00abmelt (1)\u00bb, \u00abstab (1)\u00bb, etc.).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Downloading soundfonts<\/h3>

There are now several established soundfont producers where you can download soundfonts. Some fonts are available for free, but most have to be purchased (approx. 5\u201310 USD per soundfont).<\/p>

Here is our recommendation of high-quality soundfonts that are compatible with our lightsabers.<\/p>

Kyberphonic<\/strong>: https:\/\/www.kyberphonicfonts.com\/<\/a><\/p>

Greyscale<\/strong> Fonts<\/strong>: https:\/\/www.greyscalefonts.com\/<\/a><\/p>

Jaydalorian<\/strong>: https:\/\/www.jaydalorian.com\/<\/a><\/p>

Upload soundfonts<\/h3>

Copy the new soundfonts into the appropriate folder on the microSD card. Make sure that you use the correct file formats and structures supported by the Xenopixel V3 soundboard.<\/p>

Safe removal<\/h3>

After copying the files, safely remove the microSD card from your computer. Once you have removed the microSD card, carefully reinsert it into the soundboard and make sure that the battery is removed from the core during this process.<\/p>

Once you have inserted the microSD card, you may put the battery back into the core.<\/p>

Test soundfont<\/h3>

Turn on your lightsaber. Test the new soundfonts by cycling through the different sound options on your lightsaber.<\/p>

Alternative: Add soundfonts via app<\/h3>

You can also add soundfonts via the app (under \u201ccustom font\u201d). However, we prefer the PC method, as copying and navigating through the files is easier.<\/p>

Troubleshooting<\/h3>

Soundfonts not working<\/strong>: If a soundfont does not work, check the file structure and naming. When downloading soundfonts, you will generally receive fonts for various soundboards (Proffie, CFX, Xenopixel, etc.). For our lightsabers, it is important that you select the Xenopixel soundfonts.<\/p>
